Wedding At The Yellow Gold Farm
As I type away and sip on some freshly brewed coffee, let me tell you that It's been a cloudy and rainy winter here in the PNW, it is nothing new during this time of the year. In Oregon, it rains from October through April, and sometimes it extends to June. Let me brighten the mood and bring a little sunshine by sharing how I assisted Olivia Rae Photography as her second wedding photographer.
It was mid-summer of 2022, a busy wedding season for many photographers for me as well. I've been focusing on reaching my goals. One of which was to assist wedding photographers as a second shooter. As a photographer, I must gain all the experience I can. It goes hand in hand with helping me build my wedding portfolio.
Social media is a handy tool for business owners; it helps connect with other professionals and potential clients, and it's a great way to market your business and seek assistance. I'm a member of several local community groups; Oregon Wedding Community, PNW Second Shooters + Collabs, and Or/Wa Second Shooters. I keep my notifications ON to help me stay connected with photographers, and that's how I came across a post shared by Olivia stating that she needed a second shooter for an August wedding. I immediately commented on her posts and messaged each other information. I shared the link to my website, then Olivia later replied, "Your work is beautiful!" And that is how I came to help her as a second photographer.
Assisting Olivia Rae Photography was a great experience! Olivia is a fun and professional wedding photographer! She was friendly and clear about her expectations for the wedding day. Not only that, but she was easy to work with and was prompt with any questions I had. I cannot express enough how thankful I am for the opportunity to help Olivia as a second shooter.
